Now is the time for us to talk about a project that has been going on ever since we were mentioned in the Thai newspaper Thailands Tidende. Chaiyapruk Childrens Home’s had someone who wanted to support them for a while.
We were contacted by a Norwegian who had read about us and what we dealt with. Because of relocation, he had a whole house where he had furniture and equipment. They didnt want to bring it on the relocation, so they would like to donate it to someone who really needed it. Therefore, they contacted us, so that we would make sure it came in good hands.
After about 3 months planning the day had come. We had agreed with both the Norwegian and the orphanage that the truck would meet at 1000 in Cha Am, to carry it all. When Yanni arrived at 0930, they had already loaded all the equipment on the truck, so it was just starting the journey towards the orphanage. As you can see it contained everything from small lamps to mattresses and chairs. In many orphanages its the mattresses and lighting they need since this is highly prized in Thailand. So its rearly purchased. In addition, it was included everything from golf equipment to diving equipment. This is probably not something for the kids, so the orphanage will then set up an auction to raise money for the orphanage.
After many hours, arriving Yanni & Child Care Thailand, barnehjemmet Chaiyapruk along with the truck. There he meets with Dr. Cleopandh. Fortunately we also have Rossi from Thaiguide.no to help us as an interpreter, so the talk goes easier.
They were very happy Chaiyapruk Orphanage when Yanni able to present a check for 17700 THB, which corresponds to half of the amount we have received by members and sponsorship money. The money was given directly, then it makes no money disappears in fees to the bank in Norway and Thailand. We had hoped for more, but last year the Norwegian krone has become so weak that amount we do not correspond as much as it would for just 3 years ago. But in the faith, this will not be the last time we deliver donations to orphanages. In fact, we will also share the same amount to the Baan Jing Jai soon. More on that later.
In addition, Yanni with the 3 boxes of clothes that you have donated, which was handed over to Dr. Cleopandh.
We would again like to thank the family of Svein donation from the house, so Dr. Cleopandh get a little interior to the home. In addition, we would also like to thank Rossi for help and Thailands Tidende who wrote the article that made this possible.
Below you can see all the pictures from this eventful trip. It can also be seen in the gallery.
